Dudley is a story about a cuddly, stuffed gorilla who can magically talk to other stuffed animals and children. He meets Kay and Alan in the toy store and goes to live with them in Florida.

While living with them, he learns about the "family secret." He then begins the Most Important Journey of his Life.

"Jackie Endraske has written a beautiful, heartfelt book that will help children of all ages better understand the disease of alcoholism, particularly when it affects a loved one.  No one in the family is immune from the hurt and confusion that surrounds this disease and each person, regardless of age, deserves the kind of compassionate explanation that is offered in this small, very insightful book."

"It gives me goose bumps, as I realize how helpful and hopeful this book will be to families. The story, illustrations and questions work so beautifully together, to help young people feel and find hope around a problem drinker in their family.  Jackie's useful and attractive book is a shining light for children to see they are not alone and there's real help available to THEM.  Helping kids understand alcoholism in a parent is always timely. Letting them feel and find help is the blessing this book brings. It works toward a solution."
